SmartGrid Technology & Innovation, London, September 2015 – At this key event attended by industry visionaries, Ultra demonstrated their cyber secure, intelligent management solution.
At the event, Ultra Electronics and PowerOasis, demonstrated how cyber secure, intelligent remote management can be added to critical national infrastructure, to improve site management and performance while reducing operating costs without the need to replace legacy equipment.
The solution combines Ultra Electronics’ military grade endpoint security with PowerOasis’ expertise in infrastructure management and control.
"This innovative system provides the highest level of protection at a time of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks" said Rakesh Sharma, Chief Executive of Ultra, "I am delighted to be working with PowerOasis on such an important project in such a critical market."
The solution, which is available from today, incorporates the following capabilities:
- Remote monitoring and control of multi-vendor multi interface legacy equipment environments supported by a sophisticated network operations center application and network level big-data analytics
- Centralized control and enhanced site management of remote electromechanical plant with associated improvements in operating performance, reduced maintenance costs and energy consumption.
- Unparalleled endpoint security, independently validated by third parties for robust security including FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria certification.
John O’Donohue, Chief Executive of PowerOasis commented, “Adding this additional layer of security provided by Ultra Electronics to our infrastructure management and control platform, raises its existing protection to resist even the most sophisticated, well-funded cyber attackers, allowing critical national infrastructure to be remotely monitored and controlled, bringing all the associated cost benefits without the risk of cyber intrusion.”
