Our locations

Ultra’s locations provide unique engineering, testing and manufacturing capabilities to support the lifecycle of products and deliver affordable solutions.

Braintree, MA
Quincy, MA

The Ultra Quincy site is located approximately 10 minutes from the Braintree location. It is a multi-purpose test facility consisting of 3 buildings; Barge (open water test site), Building 2 (indoor acoustic test tank and several hydrostatic pressure tanks), and Building 3 (5,000 sq.-ft manufacturing area and a bonded storage facility for GFM that is cleared to hold Confidential hardware). The open water test site is a climate controlled 29 ft. x 32 ft. barge tethered in the middle of a 200 ft. wide x 50 foot deep flooded granite quarry that is cleared for Secret testing and storage of confidential hardware. This multi-purpose test facility is equipped with unique state of the art testing facilities and equipment, ensuring that our products meet the most stringent specifications for quality and reliability. Each has automatic test stations to allow rapid testing of transducers prior to shipment. The multi-purpose test facility includes four hydrostatic tanks capable of reaching depths as great as 20,000 feet, allowing us to test at any ocean depth.

Chantilly, VA

The Ultra Chantilly facility has an established reputation for driving innovation and implementing complex system solutions on leading-edge commercial hardware. This includes being tasked with three CNO High Priority programs consisting of the Torpedo Warning System (TWS), AN/SPS-74 Periscope Detection Radar (PDR), and Technology Insertion Photonics Mast (TIPM). Ultra successfully completed at sea qualification of the TWS system deployed on US Carrier platforms four years ahead of Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and one year ahead of accelerated IOC. In recognition of the PMS415 and Ultra’s team performance on TWS, we were awarded the 2013 NAVSEA Team Excellence Award. The AN/SPS-74 PDR was developed in under 30 months from start to deployment, with four systems currently deployed. TIPM was completed in 17 months from start to fleet deployment on USS HAWAII and resulted in the 2010 NAVSEA Team Excellence Award. These awards noted Ultra’s excellent performance in product quality, technical innovation, cost control, schedule acceleration and organizational efficiency.

The Ultra Chantilly facility is a 12,000 square foot engineering based operation that specializes in system design, integration and delivery, and is focused on providing innovative technology solutions to the Department of Defense and industry partners. Core competencies include, Real Time System Architecture and Design; Sonar System Engineering; High Bandwidth Telemetry; Radar and Imaging System Engineering; Signal Processing; and Automation Algorithms.

Wake Forest, NC

Ultra maintains a 64,000 square foot facility in Wake Forest, North Carolina used for assembling, testing, and integrating electro-mechanical systems.
