Ultra Electronics, ATS awarded LCS 36/38 MDLMS order
Ultra has been awarded the next set of Multi-Data Link Management Systems (MDLMS) that will be installed on Littoral Combat Ship 36 and 38. Recently, the Secretary of the Navy named littoral combat ships 36 and 38 with LCS 36 being named the USS Kingsville after Kingsville, Texas, and LCS 38 the USS Pierre after the capitol city of South Dakota. Supporting long-lead time procurement of hardware, the MDLMS will be delivered to BAE Systems in late 2019 for test and integration before the start of ship construction scheduled for 2020/2021.
The MDLMS provides time critical tactical information exchange over Link 11, Link 16, Satellite TADIL-J and JREAP C to other ships, aircraft and command and control platforms word-wide. Representing Ultra’s most advanced maritime data link processor, the MDLMS software can be hosted on COTS hardware or as a virtual machine running on the customer- provided server.
